About Us

Sing For Hope is a non-profit organization with a purpose of utilizing the arts to make the world a better place. Our Pianos are one of New York City’s largest public art projects. We inspire artists to use their voices, pens, and brushes for creative public service. Our programs help foster hope, healing and connection to millions of people worldwide.

The 9/11 tragedy caused widespread panic to the people of the United States. It was then that Juilliard sopranos Camille Zamora and Monica Yunus realized the value of the arts in the time of crisis. The pair, together with other musicians, performed for the people of New York City. With music and art, they brought healing to many communities in need. A few dozen people grew to thousands of artists joining the cause, breathing life to Sing For Hope. In 2010, we launched Sing For Hope Pianos as a symbol of music and art for all. To this day, our pianos continue to enrich hundreds of hospitals, schools, and public spaces around the world with life and culture.

Today, our programs include:

Sing For Hope Pianos –  From the Bronx to Beirut, our pianos are part of a global art initiative that produces art in the form of a musical instrument. Sing for Hope Pianos come to life from the designs of celebrated artists from around the globe. Placed in public spaces, they give communities access to music for anyone to enjoy. Then, they go to permanent homes in schools, hospitals, transit hubs, and refugee camps. To date, Sing for Hope has made the most pianos for under-resourced public schools than any other organization in the world.

Sing For Hope Healing Arts – Research-based cultural experiences that promote wellness. Our workshops and performances connect people in hospitals and care facilities worldwide. These programs are both in-person as well as virtual arts experiences through our Open Arts platform.

Sing For Hope Education –  Arts workshops that inspire and uplift youth, educators, and local communities. Sing For Hope creates dynamic art programs that serve students in K-12. With the support of the NYC Department of Education, Los Angeles Unified School District, and The United Nations, we bring our programs to YOU.

Sing For Hope Global –  Sing for Hope is the official Cultural Partner of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates. Through creative advocacy, leadership and program design, we fight for the integration of the arts in policy. We help drive social change in local and global assemblies.

Sing For Hope believes in art for all. For art has the power to inspire, unite and heal communities.
